Recently, me and my boyfriend booked a holiday to Gran Canaria! Exciting right?! BUT, since we booked it so late, I now have the insane task of getting my much needed summer body in the space of a month and 15 days. I know there's no quick way of doing this, it has to be done in the right way so it doesn't damage your body. So I've put myself on a calorie controlled diet that will hopefully help me shed 1 to 2 pounds per week. Hopefully, by the time my holiday comes I should have lost near enough half a stone! Here are few of the things that are helping me shift that mean old winter weight of mine.
1. Calorie control. 1200-1500 calories per day. BUT, it also matters where the calories come from! Don't be eating a KFC and a chocolate bar a day to reach your calorie goal, that's just silly. Instead, fill yourself up with 3 good square meals a day. I've found that between 200-300 calories for Breakfast, 400 calories for lunch, 400-500 calories for dinner and the rest on healthy snacks (FRUIT) works for me just fine and keeps me satisfied and definitely not hungry. If you're hungry on a diet then you're not doing it right.
2. Look on the app store. I was browsing the app store to find an app that would help me tone up without going to the gym every other day (because exams are looming I don't have the time). I found a very helpful App called 'Just 6 Weeks' for 69p. Although it has a price tag (i'm normally a freebie kinda girl), the app has really helped me create a routine of sit ups, push up's and other horrible exercises that help me with my summer bod (lets just hope it pays off). But yes, have a little browse of the app store (or android alternative), and have a look at the fitness section!
3. Try something different. So until recently, I hated mushrooms! But for some reason they've suddenly caught my fancy and are my go to food for brekkie, lunch or din dins. I decided to try out 'The Carb-less Burger'. They ain't fooling anyone, its not really a burger but its really really yummy. Basically it is- burger, two field mushrooms instead of bread, sweet potatoes wedges and salad if you wish. Delish! The thing about being on a diet is that food can feel like a chore to eat, so try something different and mix it up! Don't just stick to the salads! investigate and find something that makes your eyes light up, just like this carb-less burger did for me.
4. confidence. Iv'e not really set myself a goal weight.. I just want to get to the point where I can jump into a bikini on holiday and strut my stuff around the pool and not feel like I have put a towel around myself or feel embarrassed in any way. I want to pout and be silly and look back on the photos and think, yeah, girl you look GOOOOOD. I think it's hard for any girl or guy to do that, but its all about mindset. Look in the mirror each day and say something that your really like about yourself. It has to be a different thing each day. whether it be your eyebrow, legs, hands or hair. Say why you like it and smile at yourself for being so beaut. There's nothing wrong with any girl or guys body IT'S ALL ABOUT ACCEPTANCE, CONFIDENCE and making a change if you feel (not anyone else) it's needed. But remember, be safe about it!
